Installation of a 6.3 km watermain within a bored tunnel using a two-pass construction
method. Extensive commissioning activities included coordination with existing water
treatment plants for tie-ins and system shutdowns. The tunnel alignment passed beneath major highways, rail corridors, and a creek, with certain sections supported by steel ribs and lagging. Multiple watertight construction shafts were also completed.
